- Finance and tax compliance — nonprofit financial management, 990 reporting, audit standards
- Legal compliance — charitable law, multi-state registration, international charitable operations
- Emergency response — disaster preparedness, humanitarian operations, partner verification under crisis conditions
- Education and youth programs — program design, outcome measurement, partner evaluation
- Health and wellness — community health, program quality, health equity
- Women and family programs — gender-responsive programming, family stability, child safeguarding

What advisory engagement looks like
Advisory Council members are typically engaged for two-year renewable terms. Engagement includes a quarterly council meeting, episodic input on partner vetting frameworks, fund grantmaking criteria, governance documents, and operational practice. Time commitment varies by project — typically a few hours per quarter, with deeper engagement possible for those interested.
